A doctor sets sail for the East Indies but finds adventure, romance and danger in the infamous lands of the great and small.

In the upper reaches of the Amazon River, a scientific team discovers an amphibious creature, a living missing link. The creature is captured and falls in love with the female assistant of the leader of the research team. The lonely creature kidnaps her, and the scientist mounts an effort to reclaim his sweetheart and return the creature to his watery home.

After being shipwrecked, Doctor Gulliver finds himself on an island inhabited by tiny people. After managing to convince them he is harmless and is accepted into their society, the king formulates a plan to use Gulliver in an upcoming war.
