Description
Chandni belongs to a middle-class family, living with her father and younger siblings in one of the tiny by-lanes of old Bhopal. Chandni is trained in classical and folk music. During a stage performance she falls in love with Prem. Prem, a sole heir to a flourishing business family, is an aspiring singer. He too falls in love with her. The parents are ecstatic and decide to get the two engaged, but Chandi's father dies on the eve of engagement, causing much shock and grief for both families.
