Description
Augustus McKnight is nearly broke and his only respite is day trading, where a sudden windfall gives him some of his dignity back. It is too late for his his marriage, though, and his wife, Melanie, requests a divorce. A day later, she is found dead on the streets of New York, and Augustus is the beneficiary of her million-dollar life insurance polciy. To ease his pain, he goes into day trading full time, and is remarkably successful-- but he is also being pursued by a relentless insurance investigator and by an equally relentless cop, both intending to prove he murdered Melanie for her money.
