Description
Deborah Granham, a faro dealer in her aunt's London gambling establishment, is accustomed to having her virtue called into question, but she is outraged when Max Ravenscar offers her a fortune to refuse his nephew's marriage proposal, and even though she had no intention of marrying the young man, she decides to challenge Ravenscar by pretending to be the grasping harpy he obviously believes her to be.
