Description
The International and Great Northern Railroad operated 1,160 miles of track within the state of Texas and was proudly called "The Texas Railroad." The I&GN brought thousands of immigrants to Texas. In 1881 it became a component of the Southwestern railroad system of Jay Gould. It was later run by his son George Gould. In 1925 it was purchased by the Missouri Pacific Lines.
